Shift SC

“Shift SC is USC’s student-led platform for human-centered and socially responsible technology.”

Model & Strategy.

Descriptor.

Through a diverse set of campus initiatives, Shift SC creates opportunities on USC's campus for conversation and action around the social implications and ethical issues of technology.

Problem.

College campuses is a microcosm from greater tech culture which lacks and emphasis on the social responsibility of technological growth. Many students on campus feel like there is little community, excitement, or opportunities on campus at the intersection of technology and social good. Furthermore, the communities that do exist tend to be mostly techies and lacks the interdisciplinary element.

Solution.

Shift SC aims to be the communal hub for USC students of all majors and backgrounds who care about steering technology in a better direction. We build internal community and create opportunities on campus for people to get more engaged with ideas related to human-centered and socially responsible technology.
