Who's behind the highlight reel? Highlight Reel is an exhibit exploring how the perfected versions of ourselves that we post on social media are only a fraction of the picture.

Problem.

Social media’s infinite scroll of highlight reels has created a world in which Generation Z feels more left out and less confident than previous generations. We spend hours carefully crafting content that displays the most perfect versions of ourselves to compete with the most perfect versions of others. But perfect isn’t reality.

Solution.

Displayed across campus, Highlight Reel presents social media photos of students paired with stories about their struggles. It’ll prompt viewers to consider the person behind the post— to stop comparing themselves to the highlight reel.
